**What do we do?**

At our Peterborough Campus the Business Resource team are responsible for financial closing activities, budgeting and forecasting, reporting, variance analysis as well as supporting new product introduction. We continually strive to ensure we are developing the best team using the latest technology while driving standardisation of processes to promote efficiency, speed and compliance. Leveraging our talented, diverse, enabled team to drive profitable growth. We work closely with our other engine facilities within the division in Brazil, China, India and the United States.

**What experiences can we offer you?**

This 3-year level 7 apprenticeship scheme will enable you to grow and develop your capabilities by combining a CIMA professional accounting qualification with on-the-job training.

During the 3 years you, will be on a rotational training programme and will be given the opportunity to experience different functions within Business Resource team, designed to expose you to the different teams and responsibilities within the department.

In the first rotation, you’ll be an Accountant within the Financial Closing (Legal Entity) team exposed to a variety of accounting functions: completing monthly tasks such as monthly balance sheet reconciliations, journals, monthly analysis and reporting, and accrual calculations. Additionally, this position will include invoice approvals and process improvement possibilities. You will be exposed to a busy accounting function and will accomplish a high level of analysis work, reviewing inputs, assisting with internal and external audits, identifying, and implementing process efficiencies, and generating reports. Providing a great opportunity to start building your network and knowledge base to allow you to develop and be successful.

During the 3-year apprenticeship, you will also be studying to achieve your level 7 CIMA qualification to support your practical learning. This will be in the form of day release with our professional accounting study providers First Intuition.

**What happens after the apprenticeship scheme?**

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will move into a job role in one of the rotational departments. This will be a position that will compliment your skillset and where you will continue to develop competencies to excel in that position. Providing opportunities for long term progression within Caterpillar, with many former apprentices developing a long-term career within Caterpillar and many holding leadership positions.

**Who are we looking for?**

We are looking for people who are open minded, excellent problem solvers and who have the ability to learn quickly. This is an excellent opportunity for applicants who want to achieve a high-quality degree level qualification but do not want to go through the more traditional university route.

For this apprenticeship, the minimum requirement or expected requirement is to have:

- **5 GCSEs (or academic equivalents) at Grade C/Level 4 or above, which must include **Maths & English**
- **Plus 2 A-Levels (or academic equivalent) - Grade C or above*
