We are recruiting a Locum Consultant Microbiologists who share our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and have the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
There is an excellent opportunity for the successful applicants to join a cohesive team of microbiologists, infection control nurses, antibiotic pharmacists and laboratory staff to provide the full range of clinical, microbiology and infection prevention and control services at Medway Maritime Hospital.
All applicants must be on the General Medical Councils Specialist Register in Microbiology or Microbiology and Infectious diseases at the time of interview.

The appointee will be expected to work with local managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of services and will share in the medical contribution to management. Subject to the Terms and Conditions of Service, you are expected to observe the Trust’s agreed policies and procedures, drawn up in consultation with the professions on clinical matters, and to follow the standing orders and financial instructions of The Medway NHS Foundation Trust.
In particular, where the appointee manages employees of the Trust the appointee will be expected to follow the local and national employment and personnel policies and procedures. The appointee will be expected to make sure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of patients about whom their nominated cover is required when necessary.
The appointee will assist the Clinical Lead in Microbiology in the organisation and provision of a microbiological, diagnostic, clinical, IPC and advisory service to all healthcare services, including GP related services across the health economy.
