**Role** **Summary**

The Business Intelligence Analyst is a technical role, the primary purpose of which is to produce reports according to the needs of the business, and to maintain and improve reporting capabilities. It requires someone who has appropriate technical ability, but who can also communicate about reporting to non-technical users. Being able to understand the underlying data and the business processes that drive them are essential.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Analyse requirements, design and produce reports from the Data Warehouse and other systems according to business needs
- Play a key role in maintaining the Data Warehouse and its associated architecture, and in integrating new information as required
- Work with staff across the business to understand and deliver on individual reporting needs
- Work on the ticket helpdesk system supporting internal departments with their use of the reporting suite
- Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve reporting
- Other duties as required

**Competencies Required**
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms
- Attention to detail & accuracy
- Problem solving skills
- Effective time management and prioritisation
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

**Technical Skills Required**

**Essential**
- Experience of producing reports from complex data using T-SQL
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience of designing reports for the end user using front end software such as Power BI or similar
- Experience designing and maintaining a data warehouse and cubes, including using SSIS and SSAS

**Qualifications/Experience Required**
- A high degree of IT literacy is essential in Microsoft Excel and other Office products
- Sound knowledge of T-SQL
