The responsibilities of this Junior Buyer - Food
- To support the Category Lead in proactively managing the supply base with the aim of enhancing buying efficiencies.
- Ensuring the sourcing of great products with safety and ethical practices.
- Negotiating with suppliers to optimize the commercial category, which includes yoghurts, milk, cheese, desserts, creams, milk-based drinks, butter and spreads.
- Collaborating closely with the Supply Chain team.
- Category supports across supplier agreements and terms.
- Assisting the category and marketing team with promotional launches and campaigns.
- Working towards driving the revenue and profit performance of clients.
- Developing strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The experience required for this Junior Buyer - Food
- You must be a Graduate calibre with experience in a commercial environment.
- Has 2 years + experience with Buying, Supply Cain Purchasing or Procurement experience within a supermarket, convenience, foodservice, manufacturing or retail environment.
- That you have experience within a food, food service, Health & beauty or FMCG environment.
- Certification in CIPS (or studying towards this) is desirable but no means essential
- You must be a good communicator that is confident to deal with internal & external stakeholders.
- Analytical in your approach and be able to happy to deal with trading reports.
- Intermediate to Advance Excel skillset
