Our client in the education sector is looking for a Commis chef/CDP to Prepare, cook and present food ready for service on a daily basis in one of their hotels.
Both Full-time and part-time hours available
Start time Monday - Friday 6:30am - 2pm and Saturday and Sunday 7am - 2 30pm
35 hours a week (5 out of 7 days)
Commis chef level Salary: £19893 - £20400 (+15% shift allowance for Night shifts, 5% for breakfast shifts)
CDP level salary: £20,400 - £22,149 (+15% shift allowance for Night shifts, 5% for breakfast shifts)
Christmas and Boxing day off
Main responsibilities
1. Prepare, cook and present food ready for service on a daily basis. Abides by set standards and consistency of presentation, production amounts and portion control.
2. Follows the departmental Food Hygiene/HACCP System, ensuring all food handling and storage with accurate recording of critical temperature controls, and thawing and chilling times, as well as completion of cleaning procedures as per cleaning policies andchecklists.
3. Assists other team members, in respect to instruction in portion control and presentation or instruction on the correct use of specialist technical equipment e.g. combi ovens, slicing machines, cleaning machines.
4. Transport food to other sites if required
5. Ensure the removal of all food and packaging waste from kitchens in a hygienic and safe manner.
6. To ensure that all staff provide a courteous standard of service and deal with any customer/staff issues which arise during operation/opening hours.
Key daily contacts will involve dealing with at least 3 of the following: managers, assistant managers, supervisors, chefs, catering assistants, food production assistants, kitchen porters, store person, delivery person and customers.
Must have food hygiene qualification and basic knowledge of cooking skills with experience of working in a large-scale kitchen desirable.
35 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days.
