About the role
We are delighted to share that a position has arisen for an Assistant Designer on Kids Essentials.
The role involves a focus on print design, colour forecasting and spec creation along with product development. You should be inquisitive and challenging with a proactive approach to projects. As a key part of the Essentials Design there will be a requirement to support the Designers ensuring our customers can buy good quality and inspirational products at the best price.
You will be responsible for
- Helping the design team to deliver well researched trend presentations to key members of the team in line with customer and business vision.
- Work well as part of a bigger design team, making sure that admin tasks are completed efficiently & the department is kept organized so that the critical path can be followed.
- Help to create accurate and clear brief sheets to provide all the information needed for ‘Right first time’ samples.
- Consistently be knowledgeable on current social and graphic trends, catwalks, youth movements and competitors to feed this into the Design & Buying teams.
- Work closely with the buying, merchandising and technical teams, assisting from a design perspective when needed.
- Be reactive to the needs of a multi-product department & have a strong initiative to know which admin tasks need prioritising to help the team perform.
- Work alongside graphic designers, helping with creative brainstorming, current graphic trends & knowing what is trending. Playing your part in briefing Print designers clearly so high quality print specs are generated.
You will need
- Completion of a fashion based course
- Strong Adobe Creative suite background (Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign)
- Powerpoint presentation skills
- Outlook & Excel
- Strong graphic eye and editing skills
- Involvement in License Product Design
- Ability to plan and organise
- Responsive and clear communicator
- Self-Motivated
- Time management and logical thinking
- Keen to learn and develop
