Classroom Teaching Assistant

Located in the Wheatley area, this lovely SEN school are seeking a Classroom Teaching Assistant to join their learning support team. They are looking for either a recent graduate or an experienced Teaching Assistant who can bring a high level of enthusiasmand a keenness to support children with additional needs both emotionally and academically.
**The School**:
- A friendly, inclusive Special Needs school in Wheatley
- Students aged 5 to 18 with complex additional needs, including autism, ADHD, down syndrome, learning difficulties and physical disabilities
- Fantastic learning and sensory provisions, including a hydrotherapy pool and a modern food technology room
- A welcoming school that respects the diverse range of backgrounds of its students and staff
**The Classroom Teaching Assistant Role**:
- Classroom Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support to students with complex needs
- Classroom Assistant to ensure safeguarding and maintain a safe learning environment at all times
- The ability to form rapport and close personal professional relationships with students
- Able to work effectively alongside fellow staff members to help raise the engagement of the students within the class
**Requirements**:
- Must be confident interacting with young people with additional needs
- Must have clear and concise communication skills
- Need to be able to support small groups of children
- Either live in Wheatley or within a commutable distance
