We are looking for two enthusiastic Band 5 Assistant Psychologists, for:
Rydon Ward, Taunton (full time, fixed term for 12 months maternity cover)

Taunton Home Treatment Team (fulltime, fixed term for 12 months)

Acute Adult wards provide admission for people who may be experiencing a crisis or significant exacerbation with their mental health. Ward Teams are multidisciplinary and offer assessment, formulation and brief interventions.

Home Treatment Teams are multidisciplinary teams that provide risk assessment, formulation and brief interventions for people who may be experiencing a crisis or significant exacerbation with their mental health.

Your role will include the provision of specialist psychological assessment, and both one to one and group evidence based interventions. You will be expected to contribute to comprehensive risk assessment, bringing a psychological perspective for the team and to contribute to the training of multidisciplinary team members.

To provide a psychologically informed perspective to Rydon Ward or Home Treatment Team.

To contribute to the provision of psychological assessment, formulation and interventions for people who are admitted to the wards or working with the Home Treatment Teams.

To contribute to the provision of group interventions, and brief one to one interventions.

To work closely with the Lead Psychologist and the multi-disciplinary team.

To contribute to the support and training provided for the Ward and Home Treatment Teams.

To contribute, as agreed with the Lead Psychologist, to project work and service development.

In urgent care psychology we are keen for every person who works with the Home Treatment Teams or who has an admission to a ward, to be offered the opportunity to learn / understand more about their own mental health and what knowledges and skills can help them to manage this and support wellbeing.

You will have a background in mental health, and some experience of working with people who present with complex mental health issues, and of working in multidisciplinary teams as well as providing evidence based interventions such as CBT for anxiety/depression or DBT skills.

You will bring passion, skills and determination to help support our urgent care service. You will be part of a team of qualified and assistant psychologists covering the acute care pathway in both inpatient wards and home treatment teams.

**Main responsibilities**:
**Communication and Key Working Relationships**:
This role will require you to liaise and work with a large number of people within the Urgent Care Pathway and other teams in Somerset Partnership Trust.

**Planning and Organisation**:
Assist in the design and implementation of service development projects within the service as required.

**Analytics**:
Undertake data collection, analysis, assist with the production of reports and summaries.

**Clinical responsibilities, with clinical supervision**:
Psychological assessment

Assisting the home treatment or ward team with developing care plans

Deliver planned psychological interventions to service users, both on an individual and group basis.

To assist in the development of the service in terms of new groups or targeted interventions.

**Service Evaluation and Evaluation**:
To assist the Team Managers and Psychologists in project and service evaluation work as required.

**Clinical Supervision, Teaching, Training**:
To participate fully in clinical supervision.

To contribute to the development and provision of training for Home Treatment and Ward teams.
