Opportunity to join a fast-paced, procurement organisation renowned for their innovative procurement solutions.

This is a leading, fast-paced procurement business providing innovative procurement services within the foodservice and hospitality sectors. This role reports into the Head of Commercial and coming in as Category Lead you will manage a small team and set the strategy for your Category on behalf of a key client. You’ll manage procurement and supplier activity across a range of frameworks whilst working with other Category Leads and functions to deliver and drive Continuous Improvement.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Manage a couple of Buyers to plan, develop, and execute procurement activity that delivers year on year increased savings, savings retention, and category growth.
Deliver Best in Class supplier management strategies
Work across the procurement function to develop best practice and drive continuous improvement
Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams including account management, operations, finance, and transformation to deliver KPIs and support needs
Deliver on client KPIs and build credibility with the client
Energise, inspire, and develop a team to operate with pace, passion, and resilience

**You will need**:
Strong category procurement experience ideally within the ambient/grocery food categories
Experience of complex supplier, distributor, and client management
Ideally experience of food procurement and/or public sector procurement and legislation
Experience in leading a high performing commercial team and delivering results
To be a strong decision maker, with good commercial acumen who is comfortable working under pressure
Solid analytical skills, with an ability to manage and interpret data to make effective decisions
To be a collaborative team player that brings people together to deliver results
To be a strategic thinker who can demonstrate impact and influence across an organisation
A “Can Do” attitude to resolve issues and take learnings to drive ongoing Continuous Improvement

This role can be based in the Northwest or Southeast London area. The role offers a couple of days a week working from home, but you should live within a reasonable commute of the office location.
