This is a very niche role of wordings specialist but also wanting someone to run a small team that covers other pre bind functions.

My client, an insurance organisation is looking for a permanent Underwriting Contract Manager/Wordings Specialist.

This is a very niche role of wordings specialist but also wanting someone to run a small team that covers other pre bind functions.

They need someone who can do wording checks to review from:

- A conduct perspective
- A legal view (i.e. would stand up to challenge)
- A clarity perspective, setting out cover and exclusions.
Generally, that will include checking the underlying wording of a binder or delegated contract and may sometimes extend to open market risks (rarely)

This is a qualitative review rather than, say, contract certainty which is just checking the fields are included in a set format. Not so much drafting a wording as these are normally already done but need someone who can challenge and suggest amendments to bring into scope.You must have a strong London Market insurance background.

Key skills:

- A good understanding of delegated underwriting business, contract certainty and contract documentation
- An understanding of taxation and regulatory requirements in local and international territories
- ACII qualified, or DIP CII qualified and working towards ACII qualification
