**Key duties / responsibilities**:
- Working as a Health and Safety Advisor for PHSS, you will be involved in the proactive management and participate in advising, supporting, and guiding our client base, whilst ensuring best practice of safety management is always maintained.
- Review contactors’ RAMS and monitor contractor compliance.
- Undertaking site inspections, ensuring clients are fully compliance with the Health and Safety Executive law and legislation, as well as the clients own HSE Policy and Procedures.
- Provide organisations with training, information, and advice.
- Prepare HSE reports for PHSS following client site inspections by accurately recording any non-compliance or incidents.
- Attend HSE working group meetings when required.
- Control and manage their portfolio of clients and H&S plans, acting as a Key Account Manager (KAM).
- Undertake accident / incident investigations and report relevant events to the HSE under RIDDOR.
**Skills and Requirements**
**Education**
To be successful it is essential you have:
- NEBOSH Diploma/European equivalent or working towards this qualification
- SVQ L4 or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety
It is desired:
- Chartered membership of IOSH or equivalent or working towards this level of recognised association membership
- An appropriate technical qualification from an engineering or similar discipline at Craft, Diploma or Degree Level
**Experience, Skills and Attributes**
- Proficient in the analysis of technically detailed health and safety information with the ability to quickly identify the underlying issues and risks associated with these in a range of working environments
- Capable of identifying risks and their implications.
- Strong communication skills to be able to illustrate complex concepts and data to clients
- Effective management of operational HSEQ on site
- Problem Solving in relation to HSEQ activities
- Incident investigation and reporting experience as an investigation team member
- In depth Knowledge of HSEQ Management
- Management of client requirements on a commercially successful basis
- Good interpersonal skills
- Effective communicator internal and external (incl stakeholders)
- Good Time Management
- Ability to work under pressure
- Flexible and adaptable
