Tezlom are recruiting for proactive Support Workers to support vulnerable children with various complex needs to work in specialist services across the Walsall and surrounding areas. Tezlom are a leading and expanding Healthcare Recruitment Agency, established since 2008.

**Tezlom** on behalf of our client, are looking for qualified **Senior Support Workers** for a new **4 bed** **Residential Children's home** in the **Handsworth** area. You will join an experienced management team, who between them have a wealth of experience in the sector. We are looking to create a strong team, promoting retention with opportunities for internal progression and develop and to grow with us as we grow. You will play a key role in shaping and guiding the new team at this exciting time. We are committed to ensuring you have the right support and training you need which in turn supports the children and young people are at their best. We have clear pathways for progression and offer a comprehensive induction from day 1.

As a **Senior Support Worker**, you will act as a positive role model to not only the children and young people but will lead your team by example. You will be expected to take the lead when required, to delegate and above all to keep a cool head. Your role will be key in the day to day running of the home and the positive outcomes of the children.

As a team, you will be supporting children aged **7-18 years of age**, who have learning difficulties in this therapeutic child centred environment. The children will have specific support needs potentially including Autism, ADHD, communication or sensory processing difficulties amongst others. Our aim is to create a family home environment, to ensure that the children and young people feel safe, secure and supported at all times. The support each individual child receives will be tailored to their personal needs along with their views and wishes, this will be complimented by a consistent therapeutic approach built around trauma informed care and building positive, stable relationships.

**Shifts MAY include 2 on 4 off ( Expected to do 7 sleep ins per month)**

**Responsibilities**:

- To contribute to delivery of an excellent standard of therapeutic parenting
- To contribute to the development and implementation of the child’s Behavior Support Plan and ensure they are adhered to.
- To establish and maintain positive professional working relationships with therapy and education colleagues in order to meet the needs of the child.
- To lead and manage the team.
- To maintain all relevant records pertaining to fire safety, health & safety, and other records when on duty.

**Requirements**:

- **Must have Full UK Driving Licence (essential)**:

- **Due to the nature of this role you MUST be over 21 years of age (essential)**:

- **NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young people or equivalent (essential)**:

- **Minimum 1 year residential experience (working with children essential)**
