ROLE PURPOSE:
The Equity Trader position plays an important role in supporting the Global Trading Desk. As a member of the Global Trading Desk team, the associate will support and participate in all facets of the equity trading and reporting process. The associate will assist the Global Trading Desk with multiple projects where a quantitative researcher will be needed to help drive desk performance and answer complex questions. If you’re passionate about financial markets, science and maths, you’re likely to be well suited to this role. This position offers the opportunity for professional growth into a trading / quant role. This position reports to the Senior Global Equity Trader.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Generating weekly and periodic Transaction Cost Analysis and other reports
- Daily front line monitoring at firm, strategy, account level
- Maintaining and updating procedures and documentation relating to trading performance and regulatory requirements
- Liaising with internal and external parties to help resolve any trade related queries or issue
- Assist with broker review meetings (gather documents, generate reports, arrange and manage monthly, quarterly, annual meetings).
- Assist in report production for submission to the Best Execution Committee (BEC).
- Maintain broker details (i.e. broker connectivity, Smart Order Routing logic, best execution policies, etc).
- Manage regulatory process requirements.
- Monitor appropriate liquidity partners, new liquidity avenues, market developments.
- Attend and report back on industry events.
- Coordinate and minute trading meetings; keep track of action points.
- Organise and summarise market structure meetings.
- To cover the firms trading related requirements in accordance with the trading desk policy and procedures.
- Identification and investigation of relevant price movements and news flow for the benefit of fund managers.
- Develop comprehensive understanding of the current order management system (OMS) and execution management systems (EMS).
- Assist with the build out and continuous development of decision support tools.
- Assist with booking and managing trade related tasks within the OMS/EMS.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of market structure, execution tools, algorithmic nuances, and execution venues.
- Understand the regulatory environment and how this impacts the firm’s best execution obligations under MiFID II.
- Assist in the maintenance of appropriate policies, procedures, and practises in line with regulation, compliance and BEC.
- Contribute to ad-hoc trading meetings and projects in the development of systems, concepts and inputs into execution decision making and improvement.
- Innovative mindset - curiosity of the financial markets and trading along with ability to take the initiative and initiate new projects
- Familiarity with programming data mining, research, analysis, and algorithmic trading systems.
- Number crunching - great with quantitative analysis and math.
- Ambitious individual who loves working with mathematics, statistical analysis, computer science or economics, and enjoy spending their days problem-solving and overcoming complex challenges.
- Develop Quantitative analysis to uncover key insights about the trading markets mostly in the equity space, but not exclusively.
- Ability to work US working hours

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE:
**Experience**

Educational background in numerical /quant discipline.

A passion and curiosity of financial markets.

CFA Level 1 or Investment Management Certificate (IMC) required or IMC to be taken and passed within 3 months of hire

Experience with writing code (Python is a plus but not required) and reviewing / processing large data sets

**Skills**

Academic background with a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economic, Physics, or Operational Research

Good understanding of Excel.

Pro-active and self-motivated with ability to work as part of a team.

Excellent attention to detail.

Ability to identify areas for improvement.

Ability to work to tight deadlines.
