**More about the role**:
You will contribute to the team’s continued success by building and implementing market leading and innovative category strategies that enables NHS Supply Chain: Food to optimise its buying power across all markets, building insight for negotiations and market knowledge and conducting industry analysis to support business stakeholders with commercial understanding of the market place within a highly progressive and fast paced environment.

You will be passionate about your category and motivated to ensure that we meet our team targets and KPI’s to deliver value to our client and drive savings for the NHS, whilst also ensuring we deliver growth to our supplier partners through engagement and performance management.

You will be a great communicator who will be able to develop strong relationships with all stakeholders and be able to work cross functionally to ensure we deliver for our client.

**Who you are**:

- Results Oriented - comfortable to support the dairy category to deliver against bold and stretching targets
- Experience in food procurement/sourcing
- Competent with procurement systems, ideally having used these in current/previous employment
- Demonstrated ability to develop credible business relationships
- Passion for Food or Dairy
- Able to make decisions and able to work under pressure
- Good communicator
- Personable
- Good analytical skills with good knowledge of Excel
- Problem solving - a self-starter with the ability to work independently to solve challenging problems

**What you'll be doing**:
Foodbuy is a leading food procurement organisation based in the UK. With over £1bn of managed spend, we bring together the widest range of foodservice and hospitality clients on the planet to buy food, and everything associated with it. We work closely with our clients to deliver expert procurement services saving them both time and money and enabling them to focus on what really matters to their businesses.

As a Category Buyer, you will manage the entire end to end procurement process for your category on behalf of NHS Supply Chain: Food. You will manage all category supplier relationships, engage and support a wide range of stakeholders and execute best sourcing procurement processes in accordance with the Public Contract Regulations 2015.

You will manage all stages of the NHSSC: Food Procurement Framework from strategy definition and creation to the tendering process and launch, all the way through to supplier relationship management and continuous improvement.
