**OPERATIONS ASSISTANT - Communications**
**Purpose**:
Under the direction of Operations Manager/Operations Officer
- Provide a reception service and operate the switchboard for the school and undertake clerical duties as required.
- Work as part of the Support team to provide an adequate and efficient welcoming reception service to staff, students and the general public, dealing with enquiries linked to school matters and the community program.

37 hours, term-time only plus 5

**Main (core) Duties**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide an efficient communications service, working in close liaison with other Operations Assistants and Officers.
- To act as point of contact for staff, parents and pupils to support with the general day to day running of the school, ensuring safeguarding is at the forefront of every conversation and decision.
- To provide administrative support to wider faculty in the production of official communications or recording of data where required.
**Communications Compliance**:
- To develop timely and appropriate communication in line with the school calendar and events.
- To create appropriate content for use across Digital Platforms that is engaging, informative and promotional of the school ethos and student life.
- To support in the development of engaging with the wider community, including local parishes and partnership school in line with the schools marketing and communications strategy.
**General Administrative Tasks**:
- Assist with the input of pupil data onto MIS as and when required.
- Undertake general filing, photocopying and other routine tasks.
- Ensuring accurate handling and relaying of messages through various channels to staff and pupils, in line with compliance policies.
- Organising all incoming and outgoing mail including; delivering post to the Post Office, franking all outgoing mail, recording details and communicating with staff re deliveries.
- Responsible for overseeing general day to day visitors of the school, ensuring that they are correctly signed in and out and information is accurately relayed as outlined in the school visitor policy.
- Responsible for ensuring work spaces are kept organised in line with compliance, health & safety and safeguarding guidelines
**Additional Duties**:
- To play a full part in the life of the school community, to support its distinctive mission and ethos and to encourage and ensure staff and students to follow this example.
- Responsibility for the Catholic Life of the school.
**Other Specific Duties**:
Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
