Phonographic Performance Limited is a British music copyright collective.
As the UK’s music licensing company for more than 130,000 performers and recording rightsholders, they license recorded music when it is played in public or broadcast on the radio or TV in the UK and then distribute the fees to the performers and recording rightsholders they represent.
Through a network of international agreements with collective management organisations (CMOs) in other countries, PPL is also able to collect royalties for performers and recording rightsholders when their recorded music is played around the world.
**Overview**:
You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete a Level 3 Data Essentials Apprenticeship.
This role supports the Distribution team’s work at PPL, particularly the processing of data used to distribute money and the coordination of business activities that enable payments to be made successfully.
The role assists with the continual improvement of PPL’s distribution processes and systems by building cross-team relationships and ensuring relevant documents are accurate and up to date.
**Key responsibilities**:
- To grow and develop your skills by helping with projects across the whole range of work done by the Distribution team, including its administrative processes, policy development and distribution calculation.
- Assisting with the development and coordination of annual distribution delivery plans, ensuring that PPL members are paid on time and accurately.
- Working with colleagues and other parties to ensure smooth communication and effective outputs from Distribution operations.
- Working effectively with colleagues within the team to ensure the necessary reporting and data are easily available to the wider business and PPL’s members.
- Desk research and data gathering to assist with department operations and projects.
- Assisting with the timely and accurate calculation of distribution payments, ensuring that these are consistent with the relevant distribution policies and rules.
- Supporting the testing of system implementations and development, in order to ensure they meet all requirements and expectations.
- Maintaining new and existing distribution-related documentation, keeping processes current with all relevant detail.
- Supporting the thorough updating of all distribution-related documentation, as required.
- Working cooperatively and positively with all other internal teams at PPL.
- Proactively managing personal development, to increase performance levels and provide opportunities for career development.
- Providing support to departmental or inter-departmental initiatives, building positive relationships throughout the company.
**Desirable skills / Personal qualities**:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail is important, with a good eye for spotting odd patterns in data.
- Good research skills, finding information efficiently from data.
- Good relationship management skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team to make things happen.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Interest and/or understanding of the music industry.
- Good music knowledge advantageous.
- An understanding of financial data.

**The entry requirements for this programme are as follows**:
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

**Working week**:
Core working hours are 10am - 4pm.
Start and end times either side of that core block are flexible.
**Future prospects**:
Potential full-time role once the apprentice has successfully achieved / completed the Data Level 3 apprenticeship.

QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.
To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
