**Job summary**:
The Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP) aims to alleviate poverty amongst coastal communities reliant on healthy and productive marine ecosystems. To achieve this, OCPP works to strengthen marine science expertise; develop science-based policy and management tools; and create educational resources for coastal communities.
The programme is part of the UK’s £500 million Blue Planet Fund and is funded through official development assistance (ODA). Through the OCPP, the UK government partners with ODA-eligible countries to deliver tangible and positive impacts on the livelihoods of coastal communities. Partnerships under the OCPP are primarily delivered by the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) and the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) on behalf of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
We are looking for an external communications all-rounder to cover this exciting role. You will be confident in delivering excellent results across the breadth of communications disciplines: digital, social, traditional media and stakeholder engagement. In return, you’ll join a dynamic, friendly and supportive team, working within the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), an Executive Agency of Defra and in partnership with the MMO, JNCC and Defra. - Represent OCPP communications at internal and external meetings and at senior external meetings to gather appropriate content and report on communications progress
