Hello. We’re Severn Trent and we think water is wonderful. And we’re pretty keen on people, too.
Our people are what makes Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work. We’re a team of over 7,000 people with a purpose to deliver one of life’s essentials. We do it all while thriving in our unique culture and making a lasting difference to our planet, society, and careers.
Collectively we provide a critical national infrastructure to millions of customers in our region, so the only question iswhy wouldn't you want to be part of that?
**EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW**
We’re looking for a highly engaging **Education Officer**, to come and join our Communications team on a 12-month basis to cover maternity leave.
You’ll be working across the region to deliver our ‘Wonderful Water’ tour to thousands of school children, helping to improve their lives and the environment both now, and in the future.
Our Wonderful Water tour, and our interactive education buses are available to visit every school in our region and in this role, you’ll be able to give young people the opportunity to learn about using water wisely, what not to put down the toilet, and help to deliver key health, wellbeing, and environmental messages.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
- Presenting using several channels such as school assemblies, workshops, digital livestreams, and our education buses
- Helping achieve our wider customer service ambitions through school visits, community group presentations, visitor site days and other educational projects
- Working with the Education Programme Manager to continually evolve and refresh our education offering, whilst also creating your own educational material
- Managing your workload to ensure you hit your targets, maintaining an accurate school database, completing the required monthly reports and tracking and responding to queries / booking requests
- Ensuring we deliver our AMP7 education ODI via our Wonderful Water tour engagement activities, collecting the required number of customer commitments
**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE**
You’ll join us with a background of working with young people and demonstrable communications experience, alongside a customer-centric way of thinking and a ‘right first time’ attitude to your work. You’ll have strong presentation skills and will be adept at working in a fast-paced environment.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involved. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care.
**Is that you?**
- Due to the nature of this role, it’s essential for you to hold a Full UK Driving License and have both the ability and willingness to travel across our region on a regular basis. You will be based at our Head Office in Coventry, although the majority of work will be based in Birmingham._
**WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU**
Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent, and we’ll reward you for it too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.
With that in mind, here are just some of our favourite's perks that you’ll get being part of the Seven Trent family:
- Salary of £28,000 - £35,000
