**Senior Staff Nurse - Neuro Rehabilitation Ward**
**The Wellington Hospital, 8A Wellington Place, London NW8 9LE**
**Full Time, 37.5 hours per week. Days, Nights & Weekend rotation. Flexibility required.**

**_About the Role_**
The Senior Staff Nurse will be responsible for ensuring that patients and visitors receive the level of service that conforms to HCA vision, aspiration and values, to provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality individualisedcare to patients/clients and relatives/carers, without supervision, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
**_Duties & Responsibilities_**
- Undertake the first level assessment of the needs of the patient and family.
- Complete documentation relating to patient care and discuss these with the clinical team.
- Develop and maintain clinical competencies
- Facilitate enabling, continuity and consistency of the therapeutic effect of care through consultation with the patient, the family and other health care professionals.
- To liaise and work closely with relevant Clinical Nurse Specialists / Ward Doctor / Clinical Team / Consultants / Primary Care Teams in the provision of a professional medical care, and use skills identified for the post to provide a specialist input tothe care that is planned for and delivered to individual patients
- Assess the educational and informational needs of the patient and family.This includes producing and using appropriate materials to ensure optimum understanding of nursing care and the likely outcome.
- Enable the patient and family to participate in the planning of care.
**_Skills & Experience_**
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Assessing and mentoring qualification
- Contemporaneous experience within neuro Rehab specialty
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Skilled in Phlebotomy / Cannulation / Tracheostomy/ IV administration/Picc lines
- Sound patient assessment skills
- Ability to delegate and prioritise.
- Effective preceptorship / mentorship skills
