Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP Full time

**Credit Controller (0705)**:
We now have a new opportunity for a Credit Controller to join the Finance team, working from either our Newcastle or Leeds office. Reporting into our Head of Credit Control, this is a great opportunity for an experienced credit control professional to have a very genuine impact on the future success of our business.

**_ The Role_**

There's a lot to get your teeth into and key to all of this is relationship building; both with internal and external clients. We'll expect you to analyse and monitor your assigned ledger and actively work to reduce debtor days. You'll be identifying problem areas and making recommendations for their resolution. There'll be regular liaison with partners and fee earners on all debts and this will mean you conducting meetings, either face-to-face or using MS Teams.

At times you will be asked to provide collection forecasting and other necessary reports and statistics, as well as assisting with the credit review and/or credit risk processes where necessary.

Naturally you'll also be in regular contact with other Business Support Teams, most notably Finance, Business Assurance and Risk and Best Practice.

**_ So what about you?_**

Well, it stands to reason that you'll have solid credit control experience, ideally gained within the legal sector or similar professional services environment. You'll be encouraging clients to part with their hard earned cash, so negotiation and influencing skills are a must.

We're keen to promote an environment where we manage credit rather than chase debt, so are particularly keen to hear from individuals who have experience of working in a rounded credit role that encompasses more than purely chasing unpaid bills.

You'll also need to be a 'people-person' and be effective at 'selling' your recommendations and suggestions to your internal clients.

In addition, you need to be highly organised and efficient, will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, will have a flexible and proactive approach and will be motivated to succeed.

**_ What makes it great to work here?_**

We continually work hard to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. Our culture gives us much more of a human feel, emphasising that we're more than just suits We like and make time for each other enabling us to establish professional relationships that can often become lasting friendships.
- Through our D&I initiatives we create an environment in which difference is valued. We have a Diversity and Inclusion Group, led by our Board Sponsor, which works with our colleague networks (we currently have firm supported networks for race, ethnicity, and cultural heritage, LGBTQ+, disabilities, families, and women's career development and we're in constant dialogue with our people about how we expand our networks to better support everybody). We encourage applicants from all social backgrounds, ethnicities, disabilities, gender identities and sexual orientations. Please get in touch to let us know how we can
- ** **give you the best possible recruitment experience.
- As signatories to the Mindful Business Charter, it's important that our people are able to maintain healthy and happy lives, both in and out of work. We have a number of resources and initiatives designed to support health and wellbeing, including our team of dedicated mental health first aiders. We recognise that getting the right work life balance is a priority for all of us and we're very happy to talk flexible working, full-time or part-time working patterns. We also recognise the challenges of relocation and post-pandemic return to the office.
- And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can choose and vary the benefits that matter most to you.**_ Next steps_**
