We have been a leading figure in publishing for more than 500 years. We have always been a forward-looking organization, maximizing the technology for the day, but the digital revolution is bringing enormous change, fast. That same spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism is critical to our future success. In a fast changing publishing landscape, OUP welcomes the inquisitive, the inventive, and the ambitious; people who challenge the conventional, and pioneer the possible.
We believe that the skills you bring to OUP are just a starting point. We want you to have the opportunity to expand your abilities, and innovate and develop in areas which both interest you, and support your aspirations.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
You will be responsible for supporting the Senior Manufacturing Controller Journals (SMJC) with administrative tasks relating to the fast-paced manufacturing operation of print journals. This is an important role to ensure that systems are fully up to date with accurate information for stakeholders and vendors across the Journals business.
You will need to build a broad understanding of the various systems and how they interrelate, for which there will be a full training program. An important aspect of this position is the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, but there will also be supporting tasks relating to projects which focus on introducing efficiencies and changes as the journal business evolves.
Duties will include:
- Process journal invoices in the SAP ERP system.
- Update journal systems with manufacturing and dispatch data.
- Assist the SMCJ with the manufacturing ordering process.
- Assist the SMCJ with the retrieval of data for journal financial information.
- Assist the SMCJ with information relating to stakeholder queries on manufacturing areas.
- Provide cover for the SMCJ during times of annual leave.
- Coordinate with the SMCJ to monitor and provide reporting for the Journals POD program.
- Work with Inventory on journal reprint tasks.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
**ABOUT YOU**
Essential:
- Good organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to learn quickly and work flexibly with varied software
Desirable:
- Experience or knowledge of a publishing environment
- Experience of managing third party suppliers
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and work to tight deadlines
- Good IT skills
**BENEFITS**
