You will be joining a dynamic and collaborative editorial team that manages a diverse portfolio of high-impact scientific and medical journals. We work closely with Editors-in-Chief, reviewers, authors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the integrity, efficiency, and quality of the editorial process. About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Editor to support the editorial and publishing activities of one or more scientific journals. The Administrative Editor will play a crucial role in coordinating peer review, ensuring smooth editorial workflows, and maintaining quality standards in collaboration with Editors-in-Chief, reviewers, and authors.
Responsibilities- Delivering editorial administration services to editors, authors and reviewers to ensure journal needs and service level agreements are met- Managing the editorial, submission and review process efficiently to reduce the lead time from submission to approval- Generating journal and ad-hoc reports for editors and publishers for board meetings and strategic planning- Identifying and implementing changes to workflow and configuration to optimize the performance of journals, release initiatives and publishing policies- Providing support and troubleshooting advice to editors, reviewers, authors and teams for our submission system- Communicating with our journal community, publishers and cross-functional teams to provide updates and advice for submission and publication queries
Requirements- Have excellent administration skills and a real eye for detail and accuracy- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to engage and build relationships- Be able to take ownership of problems and implement solutions- Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives that make a difference- Show good data analysis skills and the ability to create and generate reports- Have great computer skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems- Have excellent organisation skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities- Be a motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and a customer-focused approach
