Working to support adults, and their families, who have complex social needs and are more vulnerable as a result of disability, exclusion, or diminished capacity, you'll maximise their potential to live independently.

You will assess social care needs using a person centred and strengths-based approach and contribute to the development of care and support plans. The role will require you to manage a caseload, including assessment of risk through direct work, within aquality assurance process. A focus of the role will be to ensure vulnerable people are safeguarded in line with ECC's statutory obligations.

North Essex covers our offices in Colchester and Clacton. It is a diverse area to work in encompassing rural, coastal and urban communities all with their own unique challenges. Essex County Council work closely with their partners in North Essex, thosejoining teams in this area are uniquely positioned to be increasingly involved in partnership projects across local authorities and the NHS.

**The Role**

The team operates within the Tendring area and forms part of a Neighbourhood approach, so links closely with our partners in health, housing and voluntary sector. The team undertakes a wide range of duties under the Care Act 2014 from assessment, reviews,mental capacity assessments and adult safeguarding. We work with adults from 18 years and over and across all specialisms. We work with adults to support independence and maximise potential, and work with people with complex needs and diverse situations. Ourteam values focussed on early intervention and prevention, and a focus on recovery to support adults to achieve individual outcomes. This includes working closely with partners and building networks and community resilience. The team consists of the Team Manager,Deputy Team Manager, Senior Social Workers, Social Worker and Community Support Workers.

You will join a knowledgeable and supportive team, who are happy to share their knowledge and in addition, you will have opportunity to undertake training via the Essex Social Care Academy, and develop skills and understanding regarding your role and careerprogression. Regular Team Meetings, Practice Meetings and supervision will also enable you to develop your skills. In addition we offer flexible working over 37 hours/week. The working pattern for this team is Monday to Friday covering core hours of 9am to5:30pm.

**About You**

You'll bring a strong ability to build effective relationships with adults and their families in times of challenge and crisis. You will have the drive and passion to want to make a difference, and a willingness to learn. Ideally you will have some experienceof activity-based work with adults in a social care setting and some knowledge of legislative and policy guidance applicable within social care settings. You will ideally have knowledge of the local communities.

This role involves travelling around Essex. A driving licence and car - or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means - is essential.
