**JOB DESCRIPTION**
The Kent Association of Local Councils is based in Dover and represents Town and
Parish Councils across Kent. We are hiring a Training and Partnerships Officer to join us on a permanent basis. This is a supportive organisation, looking for a confident
Learning and Development professional. KALC offers generous annual leave, contributory pension and a mixture of office and home-based working. The applicant will require access to a vehicle.
**Main purpose of job**
The postholder will provide support to the development and delivery of KALC’s
Learning & Development Programme. Within this role, a key project you will be leading on is the delivery and development of E-Learning and bitesize courses. The postholder will tutor KALC key workshops.
You will also provide support on partnership working projects at County and Area
Committee level.
**Responsibilities**
(i) Learning & Development Programme a. Support the Learning & Development Manager in creating, innovating, trialling, and delivering KALC’s Learning & Development Programme, including conferences and workshops. Workshops and conferences will be delivered all across Kent (Weekend and evening work shall be undertaken as required. Time off in lieu will be allowed for such work). b. Manage and develop relationships with external training providers. c. Work in partnership/collaboration with principal authorities and other organisations to deliver learning & development opportunities. d. Ensure frameworks, processes and tools are developed and integrated to deliver a consistent development approach. e. Work with KALC Area Committees to identify learning & development needs in each of the 13 areas. f. Collecting case studies on Health and Wellbeing and Climate Change.
(ii) Partnership Working a. Support the Chief Executive and the Local Councils Adviser and
Learning & Development Manager in promoting, developing, and delivering partnership working projects at county level. b. Support the Finance & Administration Manager, as and when necessary, in the administration of partnership working projects. c. Work with the 13 Area Committees to encourage and support the development of partnership working projects. d. Research and collate appropriate materials to support the Membership.
(iii) Any other duties, commensurate with the post, that may be required at the direction of the Chief Executive.

The postholder will report to the Chief Executive. In his/her absence the postholder will support the other officers to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the
Association.
