Administrator - Adult Speech and Language Therapy

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a small, friendly team providing administrative support to the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service in Somerset.

This is an interesting and varied role which would suit a flexible and dynamic person.

You will be joining a very supportive team with opportunities to develop your administrative skills within a health care setting.

The Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service works across the county of Somerset, providing assessment and management of adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties. We work across Musgrove and Yeovil acute hospitals, within the numerous community hospitals and in clients own homes. The administrative base is Bracken House in Chard.

We are a busy team, receiving in excess of 500 new referrals per month. As a service we highly value our administrative team, who provide the full range of administrative support functions, ensuring the efficiency of patient flow through the service.

The post holder is responsible for the provision of accurate and timely day-to-day administrative support to the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service in Somerset.

This includes supporting the team in an administrative capacity: managing referrals to the service and booking appointments; dealing with all correspondence, diary management, maintaining and managing other data collection systems as required, arranging meetings, minute taking, typing a wide range of documents as requested, sickness returns, ordering equipment and stationery, maintaining websites, logging complaints and concerns, coding invoices, and dealing with E-Roster entries.

The post requires a great deal of flexibility and a wide range of duties that may vary as the services develop. Therefore, we are looking for someone with proven administrative skills who can learn new systems quickly and who is willing to tackle to new challenges as they arise.
