This forward thinking organisation is happy to train/develop Engineers who have good Analogue skills and a genuine desire to learn & grow further.**As the Senior Electronics Engineer within the R&D function of this successful global designer & manufacturer of High-Tech instruments and systems, you will be joining the Mass Spectrometry Solutions team where you will specify, design & develop Analogue basedsolutions for a range of high performance electro-mechanical systems used across the Semiconductor manufacturing industry.
The Senior Electronics Engineer will undertake digital electronic board level design as well as contribute to system level design and test activities whilst utilising their Analogue skills which could include RF design, extremely low current measurements andtechniques, precision & high stability (ppm level) circuits or experience with ADC's or DAC's for data acquisition.
As a key role within the team, the Senior Electronics Engineer will contribute to the design & development of innovative, powerful and flexible products, building on the market leading High-Tech product lines the business already successfully provides to manufacturingcustomers around the globe.
With a team environment, the Senior Electronics Engineer will play an important role in the design, development and continuous improvement of the company's products from specification through to the entire product life-cycle.
**The Role Include**:

- Taking part in feasibility studies, scoping of projects and cost estimations
- Contributing to project proposals and product architect definitions
- Specifying, designing, implementing and validating hardware solutions
- Assisting in the investigation, selection and evaluation of new components and techniques
- Defining processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters
- Identifying, analysing and resolving system weaknesses
- Trouble shooting of systems and/or manufacturing issues
- Ability to work on a diverse range of problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
- Designing and setting up test benches
- Performing extensive and careful experiments
- Collecting and analysing data and implementing proposed improvements

**Preferred Skills & Experience**:
Alongside your passion for electronics design and testing, the following would give you an excellent basis to excel in your new role:

- A degree in Electronic Engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Experience of working in electronics board level design/development projects
- Good Analogue electronic skills including **ANY** of the following would be an advantage
- RF design (Mhz)
- Extremely Low Current measurements & techniques
- Design with ADC’s and DAC’s for data acquisition systems
- General power supply design
- Cost engineering
- Preparation of detailed design specifications
- Knowledge of communication interfaces e.g. RS232, RS485, Ethernet, USB or I2C
- Design and layout of multilayer PCB’s
- Experience of Mentor Graphics PADS and Easy PC or similar
- Good communication skills
- Experience of engineering change processes within ISO 9001 quality practices

**Useful Skills & Experience**:

- An interest in amateur radio or metrology
- Familiarity with system design and complying with CE
- Understanding of electronic test & measurement equipment and techniques
- Hands-on electronic skills, including soldering/de-soldering component level fault findings on densely populated SMT boards
- Knowledge of vacuum technologies - gauges, pumps, accessories or materials
- System test & development of Instrumentation
