Laboratory Operations Administrator

AHK has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Operations Administrator to assist the UK Laboratory Operations Manager and the Operations Administrative Support Manager in the continual management, monitoring and delivery of the UK Laboratory’s analysis service levels, to ensure that an efficient and high quality laboratory analytical service is provided in order to meet reporting deadlines and priorities agreed with clients.

**DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?**

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Support the UK Operations Manager to ensure that KPI’s are in place so that assay production service levels i.e. TAT targets are maintained in order to meet client expectations (and their demands).
- Provide cover for the Operations Administrative Support Manager where necessary to include:

- Helping to maintain stock levels of consumables adequate enough to supply the UK laboratories; including laboratory chemicals, consumables, utensils and Reference Materials._
- Arrange the renewing of service/preventative maintenance contracts of laboratory instrumentation and equipment when required._
- Liaise with internal departmental managers and supervisors to determine job status._
- Liaise with the Sample Administration Dept. to provide turnaround times and laboratory distribution for samples received._
- Archiving of samples._
- Organise and prioritise your own workload and manage your duties in order of priority.
- Undertake general administrative tasks and peripheral duties at the request of the UK Operations Manager.
- Handle and manage analytical data and results ensuring objectives and service is maintained.
- To compile specific laboratory data and statistics ensuring accuracy at all times.
- Undertake responsibilities to ensure the consistency of the quality of services provided to clients; contributing and providing input to enhancements in systems to improve effectiveness and efficiency of such services.
- Notifies the UK Operations Manager or UK Laboratory Manager of any serious or repetitive sources of delays, error or risks to the service provided by AHK Laboratory locations.
- Liaise with Facilities regarding infrastructure to help support the UK Operations Manager.
- To undertake other duties of an appropriate nature in consultation with the UK Operations Manager.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

**Essential**
- Communication: Good interpersonal skills able to communicate (verbally/written) and liaise professionally at all levels.
- A team player with dignity and due respect for fellow colleagues.
- A good understanding of quality of service and appreciation of factors involved in delivering a quality service.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and accuracy.
- A proactive approach working from your own initiative.
- IT Literate: Competence with standard Microsoft and Google software packages and competent in preparing management information and reports.
- Experience within an office administration environment.
- GCSE grade A - C English, Maths and Science.

**Desirable**
- Experience working within a laboratory environment (ideal but not essential).
- Working knowledge of quality services and the factors involved in delivering a quality service.
