Apprentice Customer Service Delivery Driver

**To be eligible for this role, you must have no previous experience as a Customer Delivery Driver**

**We have 2 shifts available**:
AM Shift - Mixture of 5am to 7am starts, finishing at 1pm or 3pm and working 3 in 4 full weekends

PM Shift - Mixture of 1pm to 3pm starts, finishing at 9pm or 11pm and working 2 in 4 full weekends

As a Customer Delivery Driver Apprentice you will be the friendly face of our business - the helpful driver who delivers the unique blend of quality and outstanding service that you expect from Waitrose & Partners, right to our customers’ doors.

This is a really important ‘front line’ role that is a crucial part of our online operation, where you will be key in supporting our online growth ambitions.

**What’s the Apprentice role about?**

As an Express Delivery Operative Apprentice, you will learn the job of a Waitrose Customer Delivery Driver over 12 months. You will learn whilst on the job, to gain your Level 2 Apprenticeship.

You must also not be currently undertaking any other training course with any college or training provider that is partially or fully funded by the government.

Entering into a career as an apprentice is a great way to start in the field you want to work in. You’ll gain first hand experience of how the industry works, earning while you learn and join hundreds of others within the Partnership embarking on an apprenticeship journey too.

**What you’ll be doing as a Customer Delivery Driver Apprentice**:
You will learn to become an ambassador for the business, our brand and the goods we carry while learning how to provide a high level of customer service. You'll maintain excellent communication throughout the delivery chain from collection to delivery point and dealing correctly with failed deliveries and returns. You will be delivering Waitrose online customer orders across London. So, as well as having a flexible approach and the ability to use your initiative to deal with unexpected situations, you should be passionate about providing the very highest levels of customer service.

The role is a physical role and will involve a high level of Manual Handling.

20% of your time will be ‘off the job training’ to be able to progress to your End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the Express Delivery Operative Apprenticeship. Off-the-job training is defined learning which is undertaken outside of day-to-day work duties and leads towards the achievement of the apprenticeship. Apprentices without Level 1 English and Maths or equivalent will need to achieve this level and take the test for Level 2 English and Maths prior to taking the end point assessment.

You would gain a certificate from the Institute of Apprenticeship and Technical Education in Express Delivery Operative. Gaining knowledge, skill, experience and behaviours of the JLP Partnership.

**Interview process**:
You will take part in a group assessment, an individual interview and a driving assessment.
