**Job summary**:
We are looking for a friendly and flexible individual to join our busy team of Post Room Operatives at RNAS Culdrose. The individual will be required to accurately process all mail entering and leaving the department ensuring time delivery around the Staion as required.
The vacant post is a full-time position offering 37 hours per week. Requests to work flexibly and/or part time will be considered, taking into account business needs.

**Job description**:
The Mail Room Operative will ensure all regulations appertaining to the receipt, dispatch, issue, handling, preservation, stowage, delivery of mail around the Station ensuring the security of mail items are properly and consistently applied.
Ensure compliance with Royal Mail pricing regulations.
Dealing with multiple Courier deliveries, utilising bar code scanners and inputting details electronically to record all items requiring a signature.
**Essential**:
Driving licence with less than 3 penalty points required, enabling collection and delivery of mail across the establishment.

**Responsibilities**
The duties of the role will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Support the Post Room Supervisor.
- Lifting and moving packages correctly and safely.
- Receipt, sorting and accounting for all incoming/outgoing mail. Including Special Delivery, Recorded Delivery and Parcel Force 24/48hrs, within the allotted timescales.
- Advise customers on the most appropriate and cost-effective way of sending mail.
- Cover the basic duties of the Post Room Supervisor when absent.
- Count and weigh each mail category (packages, 2nd class, 1st class and signed for). Package accordingly for Royal Mail’s daily pick up. Log onto Royal Mail online business account recording the daily returns.
- First point of contact with Military internal mail via Parcel Force, checking postcodes against Military unit/route.
- Assisting the Supervisor regularly checking all invoices and Joint Service Publication procedures are up to date.
- Undertake tasks reasonably requested by the Line Manager.
