**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title: Day Porter/ Receptionist**

**Reporting to: Restaurant Manager / General Manager / Deputy General Manager**

**Overview**

To assist in the day to day running of the front of house operations at the hotel in accordance with company policies and procedures whilst ensuring that the ground floor is kept clean and tidy and ensuring guests are looked.

**Main Responsibilities**
- To ensure that total guest satisfaction is maintained in the areas under the porters control.
- To conduct inspections of the public areas ensuring that the public areas are cleared and ready to accept guests.
- Assisting guests with collecting luggage to and from their rooms and assisting with loading or unloading from their car.
- To be hands on and involved with the day to day cleaning tasks and lead by example.
- To serve guests in the lounges and gardens with teas, coffees, afternoon teas or light lunches through the day.
- To set up the Terrace each morning, ensuring the path is swept, ashtrays emptied, cushions out and umbrellas put up.
- To set up the bar ready for lunch in accordance to the Bar Managers requirements.
- To give guests a guided tour of the hotel and showing them to their rooms - giving a brief tour of the room.
- To assist reception in any way they require
- Assist with lunch service if required
- To assist with dinner mise en place
- Set up function rooms for meetings and serving session breaks if required.
- To keep service areas tidy - ie, polishing glasses, clearing tables..ect
- To ensure that the outdoor pool area is kept clean and tidy, replenishing towels, offering drink service - ensuring that the pool area is returned to standard.
- To maintain the highest standard of professionalism, ethics and attitude towards guests and colleagues
- To be proactive in self development and finding jobs to do during slow shifts.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £12.21 per hour
