Working with as a member of the Cellular Pathology team to provide an accurate, and where possible, rapid diagnosis of specimens, which will improve the clinical treatment of patients, contributing to their welfare. Carrying out, under supervision by qualified staff the routine tasks in the laboratory not requiring all the specialist skills or training of an Associate Practitioner or Biomedical Scientist. Carrying out some of the core analytical work of the department using routine procedures, conforming to agreed standard operational procedures, policies and good laboratory practice. Supervision of Medical Laboratory Support Workers within the Operational section.
- The post holder will work across all sections of the cellular pathology service.

The Cellular Pathology Department provides a diagnostic service for the City of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan and provides tertiary services including Neuropathology, Electron Microscopy and Foetal Pathology for the larger population of South east Wales and beyond. The department has close integration with University services supporting a diverse range of research and clinical trials. The laboratory is accredited to UKAS ISO 15189:2012.

To succeed in the post, you will need excellent interpersonal and skills and be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
