**Salary**:£32,000 - £35,000 pro rata per annum
**Contract Type**:Part Time, Permanent
**Hours**:3 days per week. 7.5 hours per day between Monday - Friday (22.5 hours)
This role will require you to work onsite on a Friday, with other working days home based.

**Role Summary**:
Due to significant business growth, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Wellbeing Practitioner to work with Northumbria Police. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary professional team adhering to defined ethnical standards and maintaining confidentiality with both clients and customers.
The role of Wellbeing Practitioner requires you to work as a multidisaplinary team, delivering both initial wellbeing assessments and short term counselling (up to 4 sessions). The Wellbeing Practitioner will respond to a management referral by conducting an initial wellbeing assessment to understand the employees psychological state and needs and, with client consent, produce a management report for their employer to advise on fitness to work and recommend appropriate ways to support their employee to be at work, or stay in work.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Undertake a comprehensive assessment of the bio-psychosocial factors impacting on performance or attendance at work.
- Identify and recommend the appropriate route for management or onward refer to facilitate case resolution.
- Use motivational interviewing techniques to drive /inspire changes in attitude or thought processes as part of supporting individuals to resolve issues.
- Produce reports for referrers in line with business standards.
- Provide up to four sessions of counselling (including assessment session) to support employees with work or personal issues which are impacting on their ability to be at or stay at work.
- Maintain confidential customer and client records in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Optima Health internal procedures.
- Liaison and/or referral to other internal or external specialists to enable case progression.
- Manage all cases in a professional manner, adhering to BACP Ethical Framework.
- Manage and coordinate referrals using the internal process.
**Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required for the Role**:
- Minimum of a Diploma in Counselling or higher
- Must be Accredited with the BACP or equivalent (NCPS- Professional Registrant/UKCP- Full Clinical Member)
- Minimum of 2 years counselling experience
- Experience working for an organisation as a Counsellor
- Experience working both face to face and remotely delivering both assessments and sessions
- Security checks including DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and Disclosure Scotland Checks will be required to be completed by successful applicants.
- Experience of telephone work either in a service orientated customer care environment or social work/welfare rights helpline.
- Confident and competent computer user is essential. We use several databases and programs including Word for Windows and Microsoft Outlook Working from home, there is a requirement that you would be able to follow simple instructions over the phone for basic computer issues with our IT support team if required.
