We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative / Trade Counter Assistant to join our team at Connect Plumbing & Heating Supplies, South Woodham Branch. This dual-role position requires a proactive individual with strong organisation skills, a customer focused focused mindset, and the ability to adapt to different tasks.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Warehouse Duties**
- Efficiently receive, check and store incoming stock.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for delivery or collection.
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist in stock management.
- Assist customers with their collection orders when required.
- Follow safety procedures for handling materials and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free workspace.

**Trade Counter Duties**
- Greet and assist customers both trade and retail.
- Handle enquiries, provide product advice, and suggest alternatives.
- Build rapport with regular customers to encourage loyalty.
- Process sales efficiently using our point-of-sale system.
- Upsell or recommend complementary products.
- Stay aware of special offers, pricing, and stock availability.
- Handle returns and resolve complaints where possible.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of stock and new product lines.
- Keep the counter area clean, organized, and well-stocked.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy items safely.
