Driver/ Warehouse Assistant

Assist Operational Supply Chain Coordinators and trade teams with the collection and delivery of key items to enable them to complete jobs to performance and productivity standards, along with undertaking various tasks within the warehouse as required.
- Liaise with colleagues to achieve excellent customer service, meet business objectives and provide an effective support service to all Operations teams.

**Accountabilities**
- Collect and deliver materials and equipment for all teams in a timely manner as directed by the Supply Chain Coordinators.
- Clear and remove all surplus materials, plant, tools and waste from site and other locations and ensure this is disposed of into the CHP skips in a safe manner as directed to assist the Operational trades teams.
- Always assist and liaise with the Supply Chain Coordinators to ensure all duties are being covered.
- Liaise with CHP's waste management team to ensure our waste is managed in a responsible manner and the health and safety of the skip area is always maintained.
- Maintain accurate records of van stock and deliveries to and from the warehouse using CHP systems.
- Assist in maintaining sufficient and suitable stock to enable the warehouse to operate effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure the health and safety and compliance of teams, suppliers, and other visitors to the supply chain area, in line with CHP's Health and Safety policy and statutory requirements.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety within the warehouse, out of hours store and workshop in line with CHP's Health and Safety policy and statutory requirements, ensuring that all areas are always keep clean and tidy.
- Assist in the preparation of joinery ahead of trades operatives' fitting in-line with skill level achieved.
- Conduct the portable appliance testing of tools, plant and equipment issued from the warehouse and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure all plant from the Supply Chain is tested and checked before being issued out to teams.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**
- Evidence of attainment of good literacy and numeracy, eg, through GCSEs or equivalent or equivalent demonstrable prior learning.
- Good understanding of householder repairs and the materials and equipment required to deliver trade works.
- Full, current driving licence.

**Experience, knowledge and skills**
- Knowledge of health and safety and compliancy matters in a maintenance and warehouse environment.
- Awareness of safety procedures for loading and unloading materials and waste.
- Knowledge of waste management and recycling practices.
- Well organised to deliver materials in good time.
- Able to prioritise tasks in a busy work environment taking into account competing requirements.
- Able to carry out manual handling tasks on a daily basis, including lifting items with the aid of a trolley or other mechanical device and unaided within HSE guidelines.
- Basic IT skills.
- Experience in maintaining accurate records.
- Strong communication skills and articulate and effective in dealing with telephone calls.

- Knowledge of building materials.
- Understanding of social housing.
- Experience of using a handheld computer.
- Carpentry/joinery background.
- Experience of office procedures and practices.
- Able to carry out preparation work of various joinery prior to fitting by trade operatives.
- Machine shop experience in the setting and using of equipment.

- The salary for this post will be £22,377 Per Annum
- 25 days annual leave per annum, plus bank holidays and 3 extra days between Christmas and New Year.
