**Health & Safety Officer**
The Health and Wellbeing Advisor is responsible for identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to improve the health and wellbeing of the workforce. This will include working closely with stakeholders to understand what issues exist and how they can be improved and resolved. The advisor will be the main point of contact with our occupational health provider and will be tasked with continually improving service levels.

**Role Responsibilities & Areas**
**Health and Wellbeing**
- Organise activities, workshops and events to promote health and wellbeing;
- Work closely with the HR team to promote an inclusive workplace that encourages all employees to work together effectively (team events, challenges etc.);
- Support the Head of People Services in the development of the Health and Wellbeing strategy;
- Ad hoc project work;
- Manage the Health and Wellbeing event calendar and ensure this stays at the top of the management agenda
to make Swift a great place to work.
**Occupational Health**
- Main point of contact with occupational health provider;
- Responsible for identifying opportunities to improve processes to improve service levels;
- Arrange occupational health appointments for new starters and rearrange cancelled/missed appointments;
- Advise employees/managers of appointment times and manage any issues arising from this;
- Management referrals - work with HR and Health & Safety to ensure any issues that require a referral are identified and managed through to completion in required timeframes.
**Absence Management**
- Work closely with HR and management on absence trends with the aim of improving health and well-being to reduce absence levels;
- Work with the team to implement solutions to reduce absence.
**Mental Health**
- Act as a champion to promote awareness of mental health within the organisation, influencing managers, employees and other stakeholders to feel confident to discuss their issues;
- Lead MHFA forum meetings to ensure that all MHFAs are fully equipped to carry out their roles;
- Ensure that MHFAs have support in place to manage their own MH challenges;
- Continually seek out new trends in MH to introduce to introduce to the business
**Required Skills & Knowledge**
