Head of Wholesale Lending

LHH are currently working exclusively with a leading banking institution as they are seeking a new Head of Wholesale Lending to take the lead for their Collateral Risk team.

This is a brand-new role, and you will be working on projects, leading the team on the monitoring and management of risks relating to collateral trading and banking book activities and you will be a key member of their leadership team.

**_Your core responsibilities in this role will include: _**
- Lead and take accountability for the monitoring, and management of collateral risk from the wholesale lending activities globally.
- To build and lead a team and to play a key role in the development of a new department.
- Build working relationships with all collateral-taking lending businesses globally and with the 2nd line risk functions aligned to them
- Lead the implementation of the new operating model
- Acting as the focal point for all key queries
- Being the key person for the identification and classification of collateral related risks
- Identifying the exceptions and monitoring collateral-related risks
- Updating and building the teams processes including reviewing technology tools and data
- Taking ownership for the 1st Line of Defence risk agenda across the relevant governance bodies

**_Your key skills will include:_**
- Proven Collateral Risk and Team Management experience.
- Relevant experience in regional credit extension across corporate lending
- Be a clear communicator at all levels and able to build business relationships quickly.
- A task orientated and results driven mindset
- Ability to work well under pressure, in a front office environment
- Familiarity with risk and regulatory capital frameworks in the context of the banking book
