OverviewCity Capital are currently representing a notable financial services institution who have retained our services to appoint a confident and knowledgeable Head of Wholesale Lending at an exciting time of growth and expansion.The CompanyOur client is a leading provider of funds to boutique property finance lenders and they are experiencing outstanding growth. Their team are heavily experienced in terms of funding and activity within the lending markets and are expanding their portfolio at an exciting rate.Our client is most notable for funding bridging & development exit loan applications.Having grown significantly in recent years theyre targeting further growth which is driving the need for an established and forward-thinking expert who can take the team and activity to the next level.Role OverviewWithin the role you will be the key point of contact for lenders from the panel accessing funds to support their property developer and investor clients. You will oversee the performance and management of the panel as well as its growth and alignment with market needs. This may require you to onboard and offboard partners over time.Ultimately you will inherit & grow a strong and experienced team of property finance underwriters and portfolio managers who can ensure that loans funded are assessed and managed accordingly.As Head you will be responsible for devising strategies that include the makeup of the panel partner by partner strategies and loan strategies that support healthy lending and redemptions.Initially you will work with the Group Chief of Lending to optimise the division and plans. You will be able to add value to the growing infrastructure of the department to allow you to quickly apply methods and metrics to make the channel tick.ResponsibilitiesDevise and enhance strategies to grow and enhance the wholesale channelAgreeing commercial terms and oversee due diligence processesSenior point of contact for all of the divisions external relationships & partnersChannel growth in terms of lending and profitabilityOversight of underwriting supporting structuring and decision makingOversight of loan performance delivering healthy redemptionsSupporting NPL restructuring or workout strategiesLiaising with broader group functions (legal / risk etc) for department needsSupporting product development launch and distributionOptimising and implementing relevant policies procedures & strategiesCandidate RequirementsThe ideal candidate for this role does not need to have worked in wholesale lending before but this may be advantageous. The ideal candidate will be experienced in property finance lending ideally bridging or development funding and someone who has an excellent knowledge of credit / underwriting and portfolio management / redemptions.Additionally you will need to be an outstanding relationship manager and communicator in all aspects able to influence business partners and to negotiate favourable commercial terms.You will be comfortable leading a team and devising strategies in multiple areas including on a loan-by-loan basis right the way through to broader portfolio and panel management initiatives as well as product development launch efforts.Experienced in bridging or development lendingExceptional portfolio & relationship management skillsA good knowledge of the credit / risk principles that underpin bridging lendingCommercially minded and strategic in approachAn excellent communicator and negotiator in all aspectsA natural leader with the ability to build and grow dynamic lending teamsExcellent organisations skills with capacity to manage multiple projectsAmbition to progress long-term within a high-growth lenderOn OfferOur client is ideally looking to pay between 100k - 150k as a basic salary for the ideal individual which will be entirely relevant to experience. Higher offers may also be considered for exceptional talent. Salary will be complemented by access to the groups bonus scheme too which will increase annual income significantly.Notably this is also a group that tends to promote heavily from within. Therefore it may well be that opportunities to propel salary & career standing forward within may be prevalent where excellent performance is delivered.This may be as the hierarchy of the bridging finance arm grows driven by your success or it may mean a step into a more senior role within the broader group structure with a broader lending oversight.
