**Location**: Remote (with travel across the South)
**Salary**: £50,000 - £65,000 per year (including bonus)
**Contract**: Full-time, Permanent
**Schedule**: Monday to Friday

We are seeking a highly skilled **Social Care Consultant** to provide strategic guidance and oversight across children’s residential homes in Greater London.
This role is ideal for a senior professional with expertise in residential childcare who is passionate about raising standards, embedding safeguarding, and supporting Registered Managers to deliver high-quality, child-centred care. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will influence best practice, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across services.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure services meet and exceed Ofsted regulations, the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
- Provide professional guidance, coaching, and mentoring to Registered Managers.
- Lead on safeguarding, ensuring safe, transparent, and accountable practice throughout.
- Support services through Ofsted inspections with the aim of achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’.
- Advise on operational effectiveness, including staffing, budgets, and resources.
- Build strong working relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies.
- Drive staff training, professional development, and performance improvement.
- Foster a culture of reflection, accountability, and continuous learning.
About You
- At least 3 years’ senior leadership or consultancy experience in children’s residential care.
- NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards).
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated success in influencing practice and improving outcomes.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the region.
- Passionate about ensuring children and young people receive the very best care.
