**Senior DBA - Oracle/SQL**

Inside IR35 - Hybrid/remote working

Global banking organisation require an experienced Senior DBA with a background in both Oracle and SQL. The role will be an initial 6 month contract but hs scope to be extended beyond this. The Senior DBA will be responsible for managing, maintaining, enhancingand strategic development of all database related technologies in EMEA as well as internationally.

**Role responsibilities**:

- Responsible for ensuring daily health and compliance checks are performed for all Production systems.
- Responsible for ensuring database systems are backed up successfully and any issues are promptly resolved.
- Responsible for ensuring database jobs are running successfully and any issues are promptly resolved.
- Responsible for ensuring database monitoring alerts are detected promptly and satisfactorily resolved.
- Responsible for ensuring sufficient capacity is available to accommodate projected BAU growth.

**Skills required**:

- Excellent knowledge of multiple database platforms such as MSSQL, Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Excellent knowledge of configuring Linux and Windows operating systems for optimal database performance.
- Excellent knowledge of networking, storage, server and virtualization layers.
- Excellent knowledge of logical and physical database design.
- Excellent knowledge of database installation and configuration.
- Excellent knowledge of backup and recovery strategies.
- Excellent knowledge of database performance and tuning.
- Excellent knowledge of database migrations and upgrades.
- Excellent knowledge of clustering and high-availability.
- Excellent knowledge of replication and disaster recovery.
- Excellent knowledge of database security and auditing.
- Excellent knowledge of data security governance and regulations such as GDPR and SOX.

**Desirable**:

- Good working knowledge of MSSQL 2008 / 2012 / 2014 / 2016 / 2017 / 2019 (including Always-On and Analysis Services).
- Good working knowledge of Oracle 11g / 12c / 18c / 19c (including RAC, ASM, DataGuard and ODA appliances).
- Good working knowledge of SAP (Sybase) ASE 12.5 / 15.7 / 16.0.
- Good working knowledge of MongoDB 3.4 / 3.6 / 4.0 / 4.2.
- Good working knowledge of Snowflake.
- Good working knowledge of SQL, T-SQL and PL-SQL.
- Good working knowledge of Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, C#, Java, Ruby.
- Good working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Oracle Solaris.
- Good working knowledge of Windows Server.
- Good working knowledge of BMC Control-M.
- Good working knowledge of ESX VMWare.
- Good working knowledge of Nutanix HCI.
- Good working knowledge of Rubrik.
- Good working knowledge of EMC and HDS storage arrays.
- Good working knowledge of EMC Networker, Data Domain and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager.
- Good working knowledge of Bradmark, Oracle Cloud Control and Tivoil.
- Good working knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP and Kerberos.
- Good working knowledge of GitHub, Subversion and TeamCity.
- Good working knowledge of CyberArk.
- Good working knowledge of Splunk and QRadar.
- Good working knowledge of Qualys.
- Good working knowledge of SharePoint, JIRA and Confluence.
- Good working knowledge of ServiceNow and Serena Business Manager.
- Good working knowledge of cloud computing - IaaS, PaaS and SaaS offerings across Azure, AWS, GCP and Oracle.
