£160-275 per day
Our client is looking for a number of experienced Payroll Specialists.
You will be a key member of the project team, representing the interests of the payroll service, helping to ensure that the new system is fit for purpose and meets our needs. You will report to the HR & Payroll Functional Lead and support the Payroll SME to ensure that the new system is configured, tested to standard and supported by appropriate payroll procedures and practices.
You will have up to date knowledge of UK legislation and will be an experienced payroll practitioner with a good understanding of payroll processes, elements and operational payroll activities and be familiar with statutory and occupational absence rules.

- Ability to manipulate and analyse complex spreadsheets.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of people.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
- Be able to investigate system anomalies and rectify errors.
**Qualifications and/or experience**:
- Extensive understanding of UK statutory payroll requirements especially around items such as statutory leave, Government pension regulations - e.g., Teachers Pension, LGPS, etc.
- Knowledge of standard public sector pay polices and pensions are extremely desirable.
- Understanding of the pay cycle and the key activities that need to be completed leading up to a pay run, executing a pay run and performing post pay reporting and reconciliation is essential.
- Experience supporting a systems implementation is desirable.
- Knowledge of Oracle Fusion and SAP would be advantageous.
**Key responsibilities**:
Support and troubleshoot defects coming out of the SIT, UAT and PPR test cycles.
Some test execution involved (likely to be mínimal).
Support specification and data reconciliation and validation.
Maintenance of the existing process design documents.
