The PMO Manager will be responsible for supporting the DSP and broader business and customers to successfully deliver key programmes. The PMO manager will work with the DSP, Project and Programme Managers, undertaking project and programme administration,ensuring accurate and effective documentation is published and maintained to enable effective delivery. As a member of the Strategic programmes team, the PMO manager will be clearly responsible for their functional areas of expertise and act in the wider contextand interests of Allocate business and have a demonstrable track record of driving business outcomes.
Principal Job Elements & Responsibilities:
- To support the DSP establishing and delivering projects and programmes
- Be the conduit to allow the effective delivery and governance of programmes and projects and to help manage and shape the business internal project and programme pipeline
Work with others to
- Establish and run effective programme/portfolio governance, agree scope and approach of the programme/portfolio, drive decision making, identifying and removing obstacles to progress, resolving any conflicting stakeholder issues, supported by comprehensivereporting
- Support the effective mobilisation and initiation of new projects, in life project governance and effective project and close activities
- Creating high quality project and programme performance reports and board packs
- Manage the portfolio to deliver objectives and business outcomes; identifying and managing risks, issues, and dependencies; devising mitigating actions where required; and effectively escalating as required
- Help to ensure effective financial management, and return on investment throughout project/programme lifecycles
- Aid in the effective governance of project plans plan, budget and scope, ensuring clear responsibility and accountability for the delivery of projects and programmes time, cost & quality requirements
- Aid in the management of the inter-relationship of the programme/portfolio with the wider business portfolio and BAU demands
- Deliver the programme/portfolio in accordance with quality standards, agreed methodologies, and Portfolio Governance standards

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrable project management / PMO experience and software / systems projects and change management
- Demonstrable track record, and sufficient gravitas and experience, to deliver positive, high impact business outcomes and change.
- Experience of establishing a greenfield PMO / PS function is highly desirable
- PMO / Project Management related qualifications highly desirable i.e. Agile, MSP, Prince2
- Working in the technology sector highly desirable
- Sound MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
