Support Worker

**Pay Rate: £12.00 per hour**

**Shifts pattern**:

- ** 42 hours Weekly shifts - 5 days**:

- ** Variable hours, including weekend work.**

**Due to a genuine occupational requirement, we are looking to recruit a male Support Worker**

You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. **Responsibilities**:

- Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
- Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
- Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
- Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
- Encouragement to participate in social and recreational activities

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
- Empathy, understanding and patience
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
- Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
- The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
- Competent in verbal and written English
- A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential

**Location information**:
Woodhouse Cottage is located in East Ardsley, in West Yorkshire. Our home offers residential support for six adult male residents, and they are cared for by a male-only team. This includes men with autism or a learning disability. We are in a semi-rural location, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Our team are dedicated to promoting independence, choice, dignity, empowerment, respect and opportunities and to support everyone to fulfil their potential.
