The Royal Yachting Association is seeking a talented PR Officer to support the PR & Strategic Engagement team sitting within our External Affairs department.

The PR & Strategic Engagement function at the RYA has recently expanded to support our new ‘Together on Water’ strategy. It exists to maintain, protect and enhance the reputation of the RYA creating inspiring campaigns that influence and inform members and the next generation of sailors.

The PR Officer supports the PR campaign managers to proactively tell the story of the RYA and the sports it represents at a national and regional level, in alignment with the PR implementation strategy and wider Together on Water strategy.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Manage the RYA press office and act as a spokesperson for media enquiries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media, stakeholders, and partner organisations.
- Support PR campaigns by creating impactful content for various channels.
- Support PR Managers to evaluate campaign success and provide insights.
- Assist in crisis response where relevant.
- Develop a network of affiliated clubs and training centres to promote RYA initiatives.
- Attend relevant meetings and events to stay connected with the sailing community.
- Work closely and in collaboration with the PR managers to ensure alignment with strategy and focus on impact
- Work in conjunction with BST PR Manager to utilise World sailing events and sailors to tell RYA story.
- Work alongside external agencies and manage day to day activity.
- Liaise with regional consultants on day-to-day basis.

**Who we’re looking for**:

- Proven experience in PR or media relations.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects.
- Knowledge of sailing or marine sports is a plus.
