The Caversham Group Practice is a very busy GP Practice in Kentish Town looking after the health needs of over 16,800.00 Patients. We are recruiting a new colleague to join our Admin and Reception team initially on a 6 fixed term basis.

This role is for 25 hours a week and you will be primarily based with the Reception/ patient facing team.

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour for the first 6 months. if the contact was to be extended beyond 6 months the pay rises to £12 upon successful completion of probation.

- Are happy to work in a Health care setting where patients are being seen face to face and you will be their first contact with the practice.
- You are available to work Monday - Friday 5 hours shift per day between the hours of 8am and 6.30 pm. (shifts are either 8-1 or 13:30-6.30. You must be able to work a mixed shift pattern of these hours.)
- Can work occasional Saturdays with notice provided if required by the practice.
- will be available to attend a face to face interview during the core working hours of 9-4 in the week of Feb 7th
- Are fully vaccinated against Covid-19

**Job summary**:
The purpose of the role is to:

- Offer general non clinical assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
- Undertake a variety of administrative and customer care duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies

**Duties and responsibilities**:
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice reception and administration team “Practice assistants” may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the office manager/practice manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels

Job responsibilities: This is not an exhaustive list of duties

**General duties**
- Manning the practice front desk providing high level of face to face customer service
- Manning practice switchboard, handling all inbound telephone calls, and providing a high standard of customer service as part of a team.
- Registering new patients
- prescription handling
- Completing Recalls to achieve targets as set by your supervisors
- Attending staff meetings when required
- Chaperoning clinical examinations
- Dealing with all aspects of administrative tasks and assisting other members of the team in managing administration workload as required to meet team’s turnaround targets.
- Dealing with daily administration lists and mail inboxes, admin lists and Docman tasks both your own and your team’s inboxes (telephoning hospitals to chase up patient referrals or patient results or booking transport for patients attending hospital etc).
- Snomed Coding of patients records
- Summarizing of medical records & GP2GP
- Maintaining training and skills in order to facilitate the role.
- Scanning and work flowing “optimizing” incoming post.
- Maintaining the security and confidentiality of patient records. The post involves handling confidential and sensitive data. A high degree of understanding of confidential issues is required for this post but training will be given.
