Medisoft is the UK’s foremost supplier of electronic records for ophthalmology and our vision is to transform the practice of ophthalmology by means of advanced technology.

Our systems provide for every aspect of ophthalmic assessment and treatment. They provide paperless working to allow instant access to patient information from any location, allowing clinicians to deliver better, safer care and rapid audits of clinical outcomes.

Our main product, Medisoft Ophthalmology, is used routinely at over 150 hospitals worldwide to help clinical teams assess vision defects and save sight.

Our innovative Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, mediSIGHT® is used by around 70 organisations. mediSIGHT® and will replace Medisoft Ophthalmology as Medisoft’s flagship product, consolidating over 20 years of product development and user feedback. mediSIGHT® is localised for a number of European markets and is live in three languages currently; English, French and German.

**ABOUT YOU**

We are looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Localisation Tester with strong German language skills to strengthen our testing team to support the quality assurance processes of Medisoft’s products, develop software testing skills in the regulated field of medical software development and support the feature translation process for the German versions of our main product.

**Main responsibilities include**:

- Assist in specifying and executing detailed feature test cases during product development sprints.
- Attend daily stand-ups during the product development phases
- Contribute to feature refinement meetings with analysts and developers to finalise the feature design and behaviour.
- Work with other team members to find solutions to defects or identify product improvements.
- Assist in executing regression test cases to ensure overall stability of our product prior to release
- Assist in the translation process for the German versions of mediSIGHT (HEYEX EMR)
- Assist in the execution of localisation tests for the German versions of mediSIGHT (HEYEX EMR).

**Other responsibilities include**:

- Interrogation of SQL databases to verify data quality.
- Work closely with development, product, account, and technical teams to ensure that testing is fully integrated with each team. Career learning opportunities:

- Develop full working knowledge of Medisoft products and modules to support appropriate testing. - Develop full understanding of testing in an agile SDLC.
- Build working knowledge of quality assurance in a highly regulated environment.
- Build affinity with more technical aspects of testing (e.g., API Testing, test automation or security testing)
- Explore developments around software testing (e.g., via test communities, online research, etc.).
- Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to professionally speak, read and write in the German language
- A proven aptitude for problem-solving
- A passion for reliable, elegant, and usable software
- Aptitude for identifying opportunities for product improvement.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.

**Highly desirable additional criteria**:

- Degree in German Languages, and/or
- Experience in German translation management

**Other desirable additional criteria**:

- Experience in manual software testing
- Experience of programming languages / tooling (e.g., SQL, C#)
- Experience of working or a degree in a Healthcare / science background, or an understanding of it.
- Knowledge of the French language - Knowledge of French translation management

We don’t expect specific knowledge of ophthalmology, but we’re looking for a quick learner who is genuinely excited about our product, our market, and how we can improve the practice of specialist eye care. The role is based at our offices in Leeds, but occasional travel may be required.
