Leaps & Grounds is a new social enterprise coffee cart supported by the British Red Cross - with a mission to sell excellent, ethical coffee while supporting refugee women into work. We need skilled volunteers to help make it a success Refugees are underrepresented in the UK workforce and female refugees have even worse employment outcomes than their male counterparts. We are on a mission to change that, and support refugee women to build up their confidence, experience, and connections through coffee. We need expert barista volunteers to help us run our new coffee cart. We'd like you to volunteer: 2-4 hours every couple of weeks on our cart in an office foyer in Moorgate. - You’ll never be on the cart alone. A barista trained member of our team will be working alongside you on the cart at all times - We would provide safeguarding, health and safety and food hygiene training to all volunteers. - This is a flexible volunteering opportunity, you can sign up for shifts that fit your schedule. - **Health and Safety Statement** - We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment. We will also have a conversation with you to discuss any restrictions that may still be in place in your region and identify any adjustments you may need.
Why we want you: Leaps & Grounds is a new social enterprise coffee cart. We train and employ refugee women and sell excellent, ethical coffee to the public. We are looking for experienced Baristas to give their time to volunteer alongside these inspirational women and help us build a reputation for excellent coffee and fast, friendly service.
