**Job Summary**
We look after our staff, and we now only work a 4 day week Monday - Friday rather than 5 days We have also just increased our annual holidays to 5 weeks plus Bank Holidays (pro rata) per year. In addition to this, we reward long service by allowing an extra day off after 4 years service, up to a total of 5 days
**Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)**
- Open up and closing down of the surgery.
- Working every other Saturday 9am
- 1pm
- Reception duties - including answering phones, making appointments, taking payments, checking in clients and dealing with queries
- Booking in operations
- Taking orders for medication and food orders
- Sending Booster Recalls to clients
- Administration of Pet discount scheme & GDPR
- Aged debtors
- Relaying complex messages from clients to members of staff
- Cashing up and balancing monies
- Stock control and placing stock orders
- Completion of any admin, paperwork and filing
- Sending Thank you cards and Welcome packs etc to clients
- Arranging food and medication deliveries, pet collection.
- Holiday and sickness cover
**Experience**
- Proficient in using office and computerised systems
- Previous Reception experience in a Veterinary Surgery is an advantage (but not essential) and excellent customer service skills.
- Previous Animal Handling experience within a Veterinary Surgery is an advantage (but not essential)
- Cash and debit/credit card handling and end of day balancing
- Loves animals and enjoys working with them
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi task
- Previous experience in an administrative role is desirable
- Can work unsupervised and use own initiative as well as within a team
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £11.75-£12.23 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 37.5 per week
