**Main Purpose**

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join the premier team of Transport Assistants at the 100th Logistic Readiness Squadron, Royal Air Force Mildenhall, United Kingdom.

The purpose of this role is to provide information and advice to military and civilian personnel regarding their entitlements for shipment and storage of personal property (e.g household goods, unaccompanied baggage, privately owned vehicles and special items such as mobile homes, and large boats). Movement of personal property can be either domestic or international.

**Knowledge and Experience Required **_**:

- **_**Applicants must demonstrate the following**:

- Knowledge of the full range of transportation operations as related to the shipment of personal property.
- Knowledge of the instructions, regulations, directives, local operating procedures, governing entitlements, and shipment of personal property.
- Ability to analiyze, correlate and evaluate transport data.
- Ability to respond to a range of questions from Government agencies, activity personnel, customers, commercial carriers and/or others regarding the shipment and storage of household goods.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

- Typing and computer operation is performed, however, a qualified typist is not required.

- Hours of work: Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization’s flexible working policies.
- Will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules, and regulations.
- Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
- Position may be coded as mission essential.
- A 6-month probationary period will be required.
- May be required to travel overnight to US or other countries in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
- May be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
