**Layout Sub-Editor**

Our client is one of the UK’s most successful and innovative privately owned multi-platform media companies, our magazines, conferences and websites are internationally recognised and are essential reading for board directors, marketeers and suppliers in the healthcare and nutraceutical industries. An opportunity has arisen for a Layout Sub-Editor to join the busy Production hub for the science titles.

Working in the production hub you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the science titles which includes adding creative flair to the layouts as well as liaising with sales and editorial to sign-off magazine pages. You will play a fundamental role in the subbing and production process of all pages of these titles, from copy stage through to sending pages to press.

**Main Responsibilities for the Layout Sub-Editor**:

- Laying out pages across news and features
- PDFing the magazines ready for print
- Liaising with sales, editorial and marketing to ensure the accurate completion of publications and delivery of advertising
- Working on special projects and supplements
- Processing client press releases and publishing online
- The creation and cultivation of digital Company Profiles

**Desired experience for the Layout Sub-Editor**:

- A natural eye for creativity, keen eye for detail, great initiative, with a positive can-do attitude
- The ability to lay out pages working with templates, pictures and copy to create effective designs
- The ability to work quickly, and accurately to tight deadlines
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress and Illustrator is attractive, but not essential
- Subbing skills - knowing how to improve press releases into attractive compelling content
- At least 12 months experience in a newsroom or publishing environment
- Exposure to Digital Production
- Passion for teamwork and collaboration
