Introduction:
The Economist Group is the leading source of analysis on international business and world affairs. The bespoke arm of Economist Impact Events provides strategic solutions to our clients event needs and we are seeking a freelance programme assistant to provide integral assistance to programme editors and regional heads who manage the development and delivery of content, programmes and speaker recruitment for the growing custom business. You will be responsible for research support, speaker contact details, call setting and invites and speaker logistics on digital and live events as required.

Accountabilities:
**How you will contribute**:

- Support the series programme lead to manage programme development, speaker invitations, and speaker management process on custom events. This process includes researching, inviting, liaising, and confirming senior-level speakers from government and the private sector to speak at our bespoke events.
Be responsible for managing speaker communications and logistics in the lead up to events. This includes collecting required information from speakers, setting calls between speakers and moderators, proactively communicating with speakers regularly and responding to queries, managing speaker and moderator travel and protocol requirements, liaising with marketing, operations and editorial staff, and other administrative tasks as required.
- Follow up with confirmed speakers to obtain key materials: biography, photo, video release form, VIP dinner attendance.
- Help coordinate speaker travel arrangements as necessary.
- Be responsible for proactively keeping track of speaker contact details, communications and requirements and ensuring all records are up to date. This includes working with Salesforce and Excel.
- Assist in conference programme development as required, including topic and speaker research.
- Coordinate with marketing, sponsorship, operations and other teams to ensure smooth planning for and running of events. Occasional travel to events, including on-site event management as required and when travel restrictions allow.
- Ensure that written and oral communication meets the high-quality standards of _The Economist_ brand.
